Unlike "large airplanes", where individual installations are clearly prescribed and approved, in ultralight flying the situation is more complicated. Each ultralight aircraft is usually a bit original, so it places significantly higher demands on the expertise for the correct installation of modern avionics elements into older aircraft so that the installation was reliable and last but not least the maximum potential (range of functions) of newly installed equipment. A frequent phenomenon of unprofessional development is precisely that much functionality remains hidden to the pilot, even though he has paid for such functionality defacto. Unfortunately, this also happens on newly acquired aircraft mainly due to the incorrect choice of combination avionic units.
